Stripe and Stare, a U.K Based sustainable lingerie brand, started their company in 2017. Stripe and Stare’s goal was to create loungewear and underwear that was easy, comfortable and importantly Earth-friendly. Described as the world’s most comfortable knickers, Stripe and Stare uses Lenzing MicroModal fabric for their clothing. MicroModal fabric is sustainably sourced from Beechwood Trees. The fibre is naturally soft on its own, so in turn is perfect for use as loungewear and underwear. A fun fact about MicroModal fabric is that it can be recycled! Using Micromodal fabric for production instead of a more common fabric such as cotton, uses 95% less water for its production. Micromodal is biodegradable because it is made from plants. An added bonus is that its breathable, holds its shape and keeps its softness far longer than the more commonly used fabrics such as cotton.
